Group 1 winner Portland Sky sold to Widden Stud
Star 4yo colt Portland Sky - a 3yo winner of the Gr1 Oakleigh Plate - has been purchased by Widden Stud and will commence stud duties in 2022.

This dynamic colt was selected by Matt Laurie from the Perth Magic Millions Sales in 2019. A winner on debut, he retires with an impressive record of 4 wins and 2 second placings from 10 starts with wins in the aforementioned Gr1 Oakleigh Plate, the Gr3 Red Anchor Stakes and Gr3 Manfred Stakes. He followed his Oakleigh Plate win with an impressive second placing at WFA conditions in the Gr 1 William Reid Stakes and a second placing this spring in the Gr2 McEwan Stakes.
Portland Sky provided us and his ownership group with a great deal of joy and some truly memorable moments. We wish Widden Stud and Portland Sky every success for the coming years and look forward to racing his progeny.
