December 2020: A prolific month for Matt Laurie Racing with a 32.35% strike rate
Matt Laurie Racing has recorded its highest ever number of wins in a month; 11 from 34 races equating to an outstanding strike rate of 32.35%.
Moonee Valley was the venue for two of the most impressive victories for the month, both by fillies returning from spells.
SAYUMI
Four-year-old Sebring mare Sayumi displayed a scorching turn of foot to win by half a length on the 4th of December over 1200m ridden by Ben Melham. Settling back on the rails, Sayumi’s brilliant closing speed was too strong for her rivals.

MALICORNE
Two weeks later, three-year-old Akeed Mofeed filly Malicorne won at the Valley with a strong, all-the-way win, ridden by Mark Zahra over 1200m.
